From CPG to EIT
We are pleased to announce that Data Scientist Henry Grace in our Toronto office was accepted to the EIT Urban Mobility Master School and will begin his studies later this year. While it’s bittersweet to see one of our talented teammates move on to their next chapter, we are thrilled that Henry was able to leverage the skills he developed at Omnium to apply to six competitive master’s degree programs across Europe and earn acceptance at every single one.
Henry is our third intern to full time employee to leave for graduate school - along with Lisa Nguyen who is pursuing a PhD in Applied Physics at University of Michigan and Michelle Ko who has returned to Omnium part time this summer while continuing her Master’s in Statistics at the University of Waterloo. We are very proud of our strong retention rate.
Henry was one of two interns in Fall of 2019 when Omnium had just 6 full time employees and recalls “having the most fun ever” that semester working with Keegan and the rest of the team. By the end of that term Henry got to see a project he worked on presented to senior leadership at Amy’s Kitchen. He returned for a second internship the following summer and rapidly took ownership of his projects making him an outstanding candidate for a full-time position upon graduation in Spring 2021. Since then Henry has expanded his role to better serve our client’s needs, including partnering with John Koury to help a new CPG brand bring their product to the North American market.
Over the next two years Henry will spend time at universities in Belgium and the Netherlands as part of his degree at the European Institute of Innovation and Technology Urban Mobility Master School where he’ll practice applying his data science skills to optimize how cities and their services are designed and managed. Upon graduation, Henry hopes to work on projects that reduce reliance on cars and increase the share of public transit and biking. Congrats and best wishes Henry!
